What is the Polydron Octoplay Action Pack?

The Polydron Octoplay Action Pack (code 10-8030) is a 296-piece construction set for children aged 3 years and over. It contains 170 flats, 28 single pegs, 28 twin pegs, 28 twin discs, 14 quad discs, 24 struts, 4 wheels and axles, and a guide. The pieces slot together easily, and Polydron designed the set to stimulate children's imagination.

What can children build with the Octoplay Action Pack?

With 296 pieces, children can build almost any model they can think of. The pegs and discs join flats at different angles, the struts add length and the wheels and axles turn models into moving vehicles. The set is large enough for several children to build at the same time. Polydron provides free Exploring Octoplay booklets and Octoplay work cards to download.

Supporting learners with SEND and learning differences

Hands-on construction gives many learners with SEND and learning differences a concrete way to plan, build and test an idea. Octoplay pieces are easy to hold and slot together, which supports fine motor practice. Children can follow a work card step by step or build freely, and making a model that moves gives them a clear, visible result for their effort.

The Polydron Octoplay Action Pack is available to order from The Dyslexia Shop, a UK specialist in resources for SEND and learning differences, for use in nursery, school or at home.
