Creating this product page to see how different forms of video can be integrated into the PNW Components website, both in the Product Description and the Product Images.

I have found a few apps that will allow us to use videos in the Product Images. They are all paid subscriptions and the one that stands out from the crowd is EasyVideo. EasyVideo costs $5/month and would allow us to put a YouTube/Vimeo embed code in the Alt Text of a product image. The product image would become the video's thumbnail.

The only issue that I have found with this option is that the video displays in the native YouTube/Vimeo video player and would allow viewers to click away to YouTube if they were so inclined.

A major benefit could be that hosting a YouTube video could give us a major SEO boost without generating lag time and counting against our SEO score.

Is it helpful to embed a long form video below that goes beyond what we want to show in the product images?

Videos like the one above could be used as a visual product description. Why make people read, when they can see one of our beautiful faces and listen to us talk about the product? Reading bad. Brainless video consumption good.

Shopify will let me put a gif in the product description with an embed code, but it won't let me put a gif into the product images. It says the upload is corrupt and shuts it down.

I found a reliable way to create gifs that is free with a paid option. The free version allows us to create 20 second long gifs with limited quality and a watermark in the corner. For $10/month (cancel at any time), we can create 80 second gifs, with high definition, and no watermark.
