Long and fairly shallow, this pine sideboard puts a bank of four drawers at its centre, two short over two long, with a tall single-panel cupboard at each end. Every drawer pulls on a turned wooden knob, and the two short ones have fronts in a slightly warmer, redder pine than the rest. The doors open onto shelved interiors. The top is wide, pale planking with knots and soft wear, and a deep plinth runs along the base. At 16 inches deep it suits a narrower dining room or a long landing where a full-depth piece would crowd the space.
