Silk Chapan No. 104
Silk Chapan No. 104
$4075.00

A timeless example of Central Asian textile artistry, this traditional Uzbek chapan dates to the mid-19th century and is crafted from handwoven silk ikat on a cotton foundation. The interior is lined in cotton.

This particular piece showcases a striking zigzag motif in vivid shades of pink, olive green, and ivory, framed with a rich violet trim. Created using a meticulous resist-dyeing technique, the dynamic pattern reflects the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan’s deep-rooted textile traditions.

Typically worn as an outer robe, the chapan features a relaxed silhouette with side slits, making it both elegant and functional. While fully wearable, we also recommend displaying this piece as wall art to highlight its visual and cultural impact.
