Memento Mori is latin for "remember death". The phrase and the skull with wings symbol was used on many puritans tombstones.  A reminder that earthly life is temporary and death should be considered in light of eternity.

What each part means

• Skull: Death is inevitable. Every person will eventually die.

• Wings: Commonly interpreted as representing the soul's passage beyond death, or the hope of resurrection.
