While the clamping collar on the flat tool rest is great, we wanted to achieve quick height adjustments without needing to loosen and adjust the collar.

These spacers were created to allow you to quickly return to a preferred rest height when switching between tools.

Here's how we use them:

• Set tool rest height at the lathe center line using the Simple Parting Tool (SPT). A drive center with a point in the spindle works well for this.
• What's Included: 6-pack (2 blue spacers, 2 red spacers and 2 yellow spacers) in case one falls into the chips. 
• Select spacers that match the diameter of your tool rest post.

No spacer - Simple Parting Tool, Simple Rougher and the Simple Shear Cutting Finisher

Red Spacer - Simple 90 Degree Detailer, Simple 55 Degree Detailer, Simple Turner and Hollower and the Simple Swan Neck Hollower

Blue Spacer - Simple Scrapers and Simple Shear Cutting  Finisher Mini
