The Aya Tray 1 is comprised of timber with a powder-coated mild steel frame. Each timber component is selected from reclaimed material and are arranged in the visual language of Adinkra symbols, where simplified forms carry layered meanings. At first glance the composition appears calm and resolved, yet closer observation reveals a complexity of joinery, grain direction, and proportion that reflects the depth of the cultural references informing the collection. No two pieces are the same.
