After a comfortable, lightweight western saddle that does not need a full afternoon of care? The Wintec Western Frontier gives you a soft, grippy seat with a comfortable narrow twist, and a supple leather-look skirt and fenders.
Square skirt, Cheyenne roll, and a choice of full or semi quarter horse bar. For your horse, the rigging sits at 7/8 for maximum stability and the square skirt protects their back.
The weatherproof build is the part that matters out here. Dust, heat, a river crossing, a wet week. It hoses off and goes back on.
Approximate weight: 10.9 kg/24.0 lb. Weights vary a little by size and options.
Semi or full quarter horse bar?
This is about the shape of your horse's back and it is not adjustable, so it is worth getting right.
- Semi quarter horse bar is a medium to narrow fit.
- Full quarter horse bar is a medium to wide fit.
If you are unsure, your saddle fitter or stockist can tell you which suits your horse.
What is in the box?
Your saddle. This model has a fixed gullet, so there is no gullet plate to choose or change.
Fit is about comfort, balance and performance rather than any single number, so we would always start with a saddle fitter you trust. If you are close to buying and want the detail, a measurement diagram is the last image in the gallery above. The measurements provided are intended as a guide only. Due to the organic shape of equestrian products and the inherent subjectivity of the measuring process, slight variations may occur. We have made every effort to ensure accuracy, rounding measurements to the nearest 0.5 cm and then converted to inches. Please consider these figures as close approximations rather than exact values.
Goes well with
- Girth: Wintec Elastic Girth (long)
- Keep it clean: Wintec Saddle Cleaner
Suggestions only. Girth length and gullet size depend on your horse, so please check with your saddle fitter or stockist before ordering.
