"Odyssey"

This backer is made from spalted maple. Each piece individually cut and chamfered at the edges to create separation of the pieces in the pattern. It is framed in walnut with double splines for extra stability. All oiled with Walrus oil to treat the wood.

The compass/tree/mountain design was hand drawn and cut by hand on the scroll saw. Each piece was then carved and sanded for a flawless finish before primer & paint.

Spray paint was used in various colours and Rub N Buff' was strategically used on the compass pieces to give a tarnished & patina appearance.

This piece comes complete with a heavy duty cleat hanger.
