This popular section of the West Highland Way runs up a mountain ridge at the Northern edge of Glen Coe. Its sinister nickname comes from the many workers who failed to return from the local pub on Winter nights who would have taken the route home. It is claimed that they were taken by the Devil.

The Devil's Staircase is now a favourite part of the West Highland Way, offering many photo opportunities. Remember your time here with our Devil's Staircase patch, ready to sew or stick onto your favourite outdoor gear.
