A functional relic from 1940s Shanxi, this wire lantern once hung from fishing vessels, casting light across night waters. Crafted from iron wire in a geometric frame, it speaks to the resourcefulness of its era—simple, elegant, and built to endure. Originally lined with paper to shield the flame from wind, the lantern's skeletal structure now reads as sculptural. Display it as a standalone art piece, group it with other vintage finds, or wire it for ambient lighting. Its weathered patina and authentic construction make it a conversation starter in contemporary interiors, equally compelling lit or unlit.
