Tall and slender like a torch, this sconce sets a rectangular block of natural alabaster on top of a long, square-cut brass stem. When the light is on, the stone glows warmly from within and shows its cloudy white body and soft taupe veining, so every shade looks a little different. A round brass backplate with a crisp square bracket holds the stem away from the wall, and the stem ends in a neat squared tip below. The clean, vertical shape adds height and quiet drama, so use a pair to flank a bed, a mirror, or a fireplace, or run a few down a hallway.
