For the one who already has a good knife.
Their name on the thing that keeps it sharp.
LIL Stick lies flat on a tailgate, a truck console, a workbench, or the top of a cooler. Set it down, draw the blade across it, spine forward and edge trailing. Tip first, heel last. The angle is set like buttering bread.
7½ inches. Under 5 ounces. It rides in a pack, a glovebox, or a pocket. Diamond on both sides, aluminum body, made in the USA.
Made and engraved by a sharpening shop in Edina, Minnesota.
"We take it Elk hunting. It's light and works great. Put some reflective cord on it to make it easier to see with a headlamp in low light conditions."
Jeff, hunter
One line, up to 10 characters, engraved on the handle in our house script. Type it in the engraving field above the Add to Cart button, exactly as you want it to read. We engrave it exactly as you typed it.
One word is plenty. Script reads best short, and it gets read by headlamp.
Stuck? Here is what other people put on theirs.
Made to order. Engraved here, one at a time. Adds 2 to 3 business days before it ships, even with express shipping. Order by Tuesday, December 15 for Christmas delivery.
Buying for someone else? If they hunt, Hunter. If it's a pocket knife they carry every day, Every Day Carry.
Not sure? Get the Starter Set. Both versions, engraved. One lives in the hunting pack, the other in the truck or the pocket. Nobody has to guess.
Every LIL Stick has a working side and a finishing side. Start on the coarser one, move to the finer one, and stop. That's the whole progression.
Made to order
Engraved LIL Sticks are made to order, so they can't be returned. If we get the engraving wrong, we remake it and cover the shipping. If the knife isn't holding its edge better after 60 days, call us and we'll make it right.
Instructions are on the handle. Every LIL Stick has a QR code on it. Scan it and the how-to video comes up. They will not need you to explain it. It stays with the tool.
Field dressing is where a dull knife stops being an inconvenience. You press harder, you lose control, and control is the whole thing when your hand is inside an animal.
LIL Stick goes in the pack. Set it on the tailgate or a flat rock between animals, or partway through one. A few passes and the knife is back. No stones to keep wet, no rod to balance, nothing to set up. It works with gloves on and hands cold.
A pocket knife gets used for everything and sharpened for nothing. Boxes, tape, cord, food, the thing nobody else has a tool for. The edge doesn't fail all at once. It just gets a little worse every week until you stop reaching for it.
A few passes on the LIL Stick, once a week or whenever it starts to drag, and the knife stays the one you reach for.
"So easy to have around. Fits in most pockets, is light and works great."
Steve, verified customer
Electricians, framers, linemen, farmers. A knife on the belt gets opened forty times a week. The LIL Stick sits in the door pocket and the knife gets a few passes at lunch.
"I know it's for pocket knives but it's great for small work at my [kitchen] station and in my knife roll too."
Ben, professional chef
LIL Stick keeps an edge. It doesn't bring one back from nothing.
If the knife slides instead of biting today, add a mail-in sharpening kit to the order. They send the knife to us, we sharpen it and send it back, and the LIL Stick holds that edge through the season.
Order by Tuesday, December 15. Engraving adds 2 to 3 business days, then it ships USPS Ground Advantage or faster from Edina, Minnesota.
If they hunt, Hunter. Otherwise Every Day Carry. Diamond cuts everything a folder or a hunting knife is likely to be made of, including S30V, S35VN, M390, MagnaCut, plain carbon, and stainless.
Email us right away and we'll catch it before it goes on the laser. Once it's engraved, it's engraved.
Yes, at checkout. It goes in the box.
Engraved LIL Sticks are made to order and can't be returned. If we make a mistake, we remake it.
Start on the coarser side and finish on the finer one. On Hunter that's 45 then 30. On Every Day Carry that's 30 then 9. If the knife only feels a little tired, the finer side alone is usually enough.
A rod asks you to hold the bevel angle freehand, stroke after stroke, usually with one hand holding the rod. LIL Stick lies flat and sets the angle for you.
Yes. Work the flat back of the blade, not the scalloped side. It will not cut new serrations.
