Send them dull. Get them back sharp. No leaving home, no two-week wait, no shipping bill tor packing to figure out. Postage included both ways.

Cutco knives are built to last, and most people keep them for decades. The steel holds an edge well. It doesn't hold one forever. When a Cutco blade stops biting, it needs someone who knows the difference between a straightedge and Cutco's Double-D, and sharpens each the right way.

Vivront's mail-in kit is the easiest way to get Cutco knives sharpened from anywhere in the US. We send the kit. You pack your knives. We sharpen them, hone them, clean them, and send them back ready to use in about a week.

What about Cutco's free factory sharpening?

It's real. Cutco's Forever Guarantee covers free sharpening of straight-edge and serrated blades at their facility in Olean, New York. Two things to weigh: the round trip runs about two to three weeks, and you cover the shipping and packaging both ways. The sharpening is free. Getting them there and back is not, and it's slower.

Vivront is the paid, faster option. Your kit ships back within 24 hours of reaching us, one to three days each direction. If cost is the only factor, the factory is hard to beat. If you want your knives back this week, send them to us.

The Serrated Edge (And Why It Matters)

Most Cutco serrated kitchen knives use a unique edge. It looks like a normal serrated blade, but it's tweaked. A standard pull-through sharpener can't maintain it. It flattens the teeth instead of restoring them.

We reuse the serrations by hand. The knife comes back cutting better. Cutco straight blades are sharpened at the angle matching the blade.

How It Works

1. Order your kit. A pre-paid, USPS-compliant box arrives at your door. Inside: protective sleeves for each knife, clear instructions, and all return shipping materials. Nothing to figure out.

2. Pack and drop. Pack your knives into the sleeves, seal the box, and drop it at any mailbox or post office including your home. Packaging meets USPS Publication 52, Section 443 for safe blade transport. Insured, paid, and trackable both ways.

3. We sharpen. Your Cutco knives are sharpened by hand by people who know. Straight or serrated, cleaned and honed before return.

4. They arrive sharp. Most customers receive their knives back in about a week from the day they drop them off, depending on distance from our Edina shop.

You can include knives from other brands in the same kit. We sharpen all of them.

Common Questions

Do I need to be the original owner?
No! Gifted, inherited, secondhand, all fine. No proof of purchase required. Cutco knives from the 1960s on sharpen, and we regularly bring back sets that have been in daily use for decades.

Will sharpening change the serrated edge?
We reuse it, not convert it to straight.

Can I include other brands?
Yes. Pack whatever needs sharpening alongside your Cutco. Same turnaround, same care.

What if my knives have chips or damage?
We assess every knife individually. Minor chips and tip repairs are part of the service. We'll reach out if anything unexpected comes up.
