Hoya Sunrise

Say hello to one of our newest plant arrivals! 🌿 The Hoya Sunrise is a collector favorite known for its beautiful foliage, vining growth, and the sweetest surprise of all: delicate yellow blooms that can appear when the plant is happy and mature.

Available in a 4" and 6" Nursery Pot, this gorgeous Hoya is perfect for plant collectors who love discovering unique varieties and watching their plants develop over time. Give it the right conditions and you may be rewarded with clusters of charming, star shaped flowers that add an extra touch of magic to your plant collection.

Why You'll Love It

🌿 Collector Worthy: A beautiful addition to any Hoya collection and a fun variety to grow and observe.

🌼 Beautiful Blooms: Its delicate yellow flowers are an exciting surprise when the plant reaches maturity and receives proper care.

🪴 Vining Growth: Let it trail from a shelf or hanging planter, or train its vines around a trellis for a fuller display.

💚 Low Maintenance: Hoyas are wonderfully forgiving once established, making them a great choice for plant lovers who want something beautiful without constant fussing.

🐾 Pet Friendly: Hoya Sunrise is considered non toxic to cats and dogs, making it a wonderful choice for plant loving households with curious pets. As with any houseplant, we recommend keeping plants out of reach of pets to prevent chewing or stomach upset.

Care Instructions

Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Hoya Sunrise can tolerate some gentle morning or evening sun, but protect it from intense direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Water: Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Water thoroughly when the top portion of the soil feels dry, then allow excess water to drain completely. Hoyas prefer not to sit in consistently soggy soil.

Soil: Use a well draining, airy soil mix that allows the roots to breathe. A chunky mix formulated for Hoyas, orchids, or epiphytic plants works beautifully.

Humidity: Average household humidity is usually sufficient, but higher humidity can encourage healthy growth and may support flowering.

Temperature: Keep in a warm environment away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. Avoid temperatures below 60°F.

Blooming Tip: Bright, consistent light and allowing the plant to mature can encourage flowering. Once your Hoya develops flower spurs, avoid removing them after blooming because Hoyas can rebloom from the same structures.

A Beautiful Benefit

Beyond their beautiful foliage and flowers, Hoyas bring a natural, living element to your space while their vining growth makes them especially versatile for shelves, plant stands, trellises, and hanging displays. Watching a Hoya grow, develop flower spurs, and finally reward you with blooms is part of what makes collecting them so much fun!
