The Pellisane Alabaster Shade Wall Sconce sets a tapered shade of natural alabaster on a turned candlestick, with a bobeche, a short arm, and a round stepped backplate. Alabaster is a natural stone. Each shade has its own veining and tone, so no two sconces look exactly alike. These variations are not defects.
- Turn off power at the breaker before installing. A licensed electrician is recommended.
- Mount the backplate so the candlestick stands upright and the shade sits level.
- Dust the shade with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the stone.
- Let the bulb cool before handling the shade or changing the bulb.
What bulb does the Pellisane wall sconce use?
One bulb with an E12 or E14 base. These are small candelabra bases, not standard E26 or E27 screw bases, so check the base before buying replacements. A warm white 3000K bulb gives the stone its softest glow.
How big is it, and how far does it stick out from the wall?
It projects 8.3″ / 21cm from the wall. The full size is W 6.3″ x H 12.2″ x Projection 8.3″ / W 16cm x H 31cm x Projection 21cm.
Can I use a pair beside a mirror or bed?
Yes. The compact size works well on both sides of a mirror, a bed, or a fireplace. It is rated for indoor, dry locations only.

Does it plug in, or does it need to be hardwired?
It is hardwired. The backplate mounts over a standard junction box and is controlled by a wall switch; there is no plug or cord. We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
Which finishes are available, and will my alabaster look like the photos?
Brushed nickel, black, and brass. Alabaster is a natural stone, so the veining and tone differ on every shade. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from water, as the stone is porous.
