The Orsella Single Alabaster Globe Wall Sconce sets a solid alabaster sphere on a round bobeche, carried by a curved arm that rises from a stepped backplate. The G9 bulb inside lights the stone from within and brings out its natural veining in a soft 3000K glow. Alabaster is a natural, porous stone. Veining, tone and small marks vary from piece to piece and are not defects.
- Turn off power at the breaker before installing. A licensed electrician is recommended.
- Mount the backplate so the arm curves upward and the globe sits on the bobeche.
- Dust the globe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the stone.
- Let the bulb cool before handling the globe or changing the bulb.
What bulb does the Orsella single sconce use?
One G9 bulb. G9 is a small two-pin bulb, not a standard screw-in base, so choose G9 bulbs. A warm white 3000K bulb gives the stone its softest glow.
How far does the sconce stick out from the wall?
It projects 7.9″ / 20cm from the wall. The full size is W 5.9″ x H 12.2″ / W 15cm x H 31cm.
Does it plug in, or does it need to be hardwired?
It is hardwired. The backplate mounts over a standard junction box and it is controlled by a wall switch; there is no plug or cord. We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
Is there a matching two-light version?
Yes. The Orsella Double has the same globes, arms and finishes with two lights, W 16.1″ x H 8.7″ / W 41cm x H 22cm, projecting 7.9″ / 20cm.
Which finishes are available, and will my alabaster look like the photos?
Brushed nickel, black, and brass. Alabaster is a natural stone, so the veining and tone differ on every globe. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from water, as the stone is porous.
