Attention HOT SLEEPERS!!

If heat is ruining your sleep, and your electric bill is ruining your budget, kill two birds with one stone by purchasing the all new Cold Flash Sleep Cooling System. Say goodbye to night sweats and welcome better sleep, longer sleep, and a better quality of life.

Introducing the Cold Flash Ultra from Mattress Cooler USA.

In 2023 Mattress Cooler USA launched the first compressor water cooler we know of for the sleep cooling industry giving us the extra cooling power needed to chill a cotton cooling pad and the efficiency to not turn your bedroom into an oven like a 400 watt thermoelectric cooler will.

Unfortunately...the Tariffs in 2025, swinging from 25% to 150% on a daily basis forced us to put the brakes on that model and we instead focused on the Cold Flash 2.0 and our partnership with Alpicool...which has been an incredible success.

Fortunately, with Tariffs settled down...higher but at least predictable, we are bringing it back for 2026 and pairing it with the much loved, and greatly missed cotton pads. The cooler is basically the same, but we have decided to change the pump design and plumbing to the same simple drop in pump design and lid we have had so much success with our AlpiCool line. The drop in pumps prime faster and far less likely to get clogged. Cleaning is simple, and if the pump ever does fail...replacements are $12.50 and it takes about 30 seconds and no tools to replace.

We think this is the future of sleep cooling... simple, repairable, and affordable system that will meet the sleep cooling needs of most sleepers.

The Cold Flash doesn't track your sleep, cure snoring, connect to your phone, or collect/store/sell your meta data. It is a simple appliance that directly cools you at night working far better than cranking down the AC and using a fraction of the electricity.

How It Works:

Mattress Cooler USA's simple sleep cooling systems work by chilling water and circulating it through a cooling pad placed under the fitted sheet to absorb trapped body heat. By directly cooling your body instead of your entire house, you get better cooling using a fraction of th electricity.

***Your Cold Flash will ship in 2 separate packages*** Delivery time is approximately 1 week to recieve both packages depending on your location.

Versions:

The Cold Flash is now available in 3 sizes for all cooling preferences. Pick the model that meets your needs.

1.5 Gallon

All new for 2026, the 1.5 is a little more compact than the 2 gallon but has the same 45W compressor. At 16"x10" and 10" tall, it fits on most night stands but can also be placed on the floor next to the bed. Can cool 2 people with either 2 pillow pads or a single 27" x63" mattress topper. Strap the pillow pad to your secondary pillow, then place it under your legs, against your back/frint, under your neck, or wherever you need cooling.

2.0 Gallon

Now in Blue or Gray, the 2 Gallon has a new and improved custom lid and measures at 17" x 12" and 10" tall. Slightly larger than the 1.5 but it still fits on most night stands or next to the bed. The 2 gallon uses Alpicool's basic 45 watt compressor and comes with a 27x63 cooling pad or 2 pillow pads. While the raw cooling power is the same as the 1.5 gallon The 33% extra water capacity/thermal mass comes in handy when you need a little extra cooling power...like if you take an evening shower and hop into bed steaming hot.

4.0 Gallon

For those who need a little extra cooling power, the 4 gallon comes with a 60 watt compressor for 33% more cooling power. and twice the thermal mass as the 2 Gallon. Reccomended if your room temperature is over 72F an night, combined body mass is over 300lbs, individuals who are extra hot sleepers, or for those who just want a larger refrigerator to travel with. The 4 gallon has 2 lid options. One is just 2 small adapters that prop open the standard lid allowing the pump power and cooling pad tubes to go through without drilling holes. The second option is a full, 2 piece lid. It looks nicer and has better cord management for the power supply, but both work fine.

Cold Flash Ultra

Now Shipping, the Ultra will have a larger and more efficient 100W compressor giving it about 3X the cooling power as the 60 watt 4 Gallon model, but with a 1 gallon tank it can fit on most night stands. The extra power means it can be paired with cotton pads that need much lower water temps. The tradeoff is primarily noise...while the 1.5 and 2.0 gallon cooler are close to silent...with the Ultra, you will hear the fan and occasionally the compressor start/stop. Nothing obnoxious, but if you need silence more than cool...this may not be the cooler for you.

Which One Should You Choose?

For 95% of individuals and 75% of couples, the 1.5 or 2.0 gallon / 45 watt coolers will have the cooling power required to keep you cool and are small enough to fit on a night stand, so most people should start with this cooler. If you need more cooling, upgrade to the 4.0, or use Promo Code: 2COLD to get $50 off when you buy 2 cold flash's of any size...one for each side of the bed. It's overkill for most, but if you need it...go for it!

The Ultra, is reccomended for those who want a fabric cooling pad which needs much colder water temps to pull heat through the extra layers of fabric and tubing. The primary use case for these is hotel rooms with 2 beds as is is the only cooler with the power to cool up to 4 people at the same time.

COLD FLASH

The Cure For Hot Sleep: Water chilled by a mini refrigerator is circulated through a cooling pad placed on your pillow or mattress. The cooling pad absorbs and removes excess body heat, ensuring you stay cool all night.
Easy Operation: Fill the tank with water and set to 60F. Turn on the pump when you go to sleep and turn it off when you wake up.
Save Energy: Cool yourself at night instead of your whole house and save up to 5,000 kwh per year**.
Affordable Option: No expensive and gimmicky features and no monthly fees! The Cold Flash’s simplicity makes it the only budget-friendly sleep solution on the market.
Simple Pump Repair: Pumps have a hard life and are often the weakest component in most sleep cooling systems. Our simple drop in pump design allows for no tool replacement in just seconds.
For those who experience: Night sweats, Hot Flashes, Hormonal Changes, Insomnia, Trouble Falling Asleep, Trouble Staying Asleep, Post OP Recovery, Muscle Aches and Pains.
Affordable Complete Sleep Cooling System: No expensive and gimmicky features and no monthly fees! The Cold Flash’s simplicity makes it the only budget-friendly sleep solution on the market.

Stay Cool No Matter Where You Live

The Cold Flash features a powerful compressor cooling system that is not as sensative to ambient temperature and humidity as our evaporative coolers. Works just as well on a boat or rainforest as it does on a mountain top. Another advantage over evaporative coolers is that the closed cooling loop system does not require adding water nightly, and the water stays clean for much longer...though it does still need to be drained and refilled periodically.

Doubles as a portable 12V Car Refrigerator

The 1.5, 2.0, and 4.0 gallon AlpiCoolers retain full car refrigerator functionality and even ship with a car power adapter.
Bring your Cold Flash on vacation...keeping drinks cool for the road trip, and you cool all night in that hot, fan-less hotel room😊

Simple Repairs

The number one problem sleep cooling systems have over time is water pump failures. The pumps have a hard life...running 8-10 hours a night, 365 days a year, sometimes in less than crystal clear water ☹. The Cold Flash has an inexpensive drop in pump..repairs take just 30 seconds to connect the hose and plug it in.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How does this system compare to Eight Sleep and Chilipad?
A: They don't... Those are $3,000-$4,000 systems made for millionaires, billionaires, and any podcaster who will take their venture capital money. If you can afford one...we say go for it! Seriously though...we have opted to keep it simple because it really is.
1) Chill Water
2) Circulate through cooling pad

3) That's it...it's really that simple.

The Cold Flash is a simple solution to a simple problem, and as far as we know is the only affordable compressor powered sleep cooling system on the market.

Q: Why do you reccomend Max Cool PVC Pads instead of Cotton Pads

A: Cooling Performance. The sweet spot for a PVC cooling pad is about 68 degrees. So If I can circulate 68 degree water through it, for most people, this is going to absorb just about the same amount of energy per minute as your body is generating, keeping you comfortable and cool.

Contrast this to a cotton pad with tubing run through it, or a PVC pad with a thick cover on it. To achieve the same level of body cooling, they require an operating temperature of 55 or less to achieve the same level of cooling the PVC pad achieves at 75F. While the PVC pad has less than 1mm of fabric between you and the 75F water...the fabric cooling pads essentially have layers of tubing and fabric insulation blocking the cool, thus they require much lower temperatures to break through.

So the bottom line is...while pad style is ultimately a personal preference, the thermodynamic properties of the PVC pads plus the price, and easy to clean makes them our reccomended pad for most sleepers.
**Summer 2026 Update: For those who prefer the cotton pad...the Cold Flash Ultra has 3X the cooling power as the 4 gallon Cold Flash and can be paired with a cotton pad.

Q: Why don't your PVC pads have a fabric cover?

A: Cost, and efficiency. We could add a cover, but it would probably double or triple the price for a component that is meant to be replaced periodically. The pad is already designed to go under the fitted sheet, or pillow case which acts as a light cover. If you need more padding, you can easily put another sheet or layer between the pad and your body, though at some point this would block most of the cooling. By keeping our pads simple, we are able to offer replacements at $25-$50 each, compared to other products on the market where pad replacement can cost $1,000 or more if they are even available.

Q: Why don't your pads cover the whole bed?

A: There is a misconception that larger pads will automatically cool you better, which makes sense but there are tradeoffs to be made. The first thing to know is that to cool you...that is remove about the same amount of body heat per hour that your body generates, all we really need is about a 1 square foot contact patch. Through that contact area...your legs, back, front, neck, cheek...wherever you like it, we can absorb and remove body heat at a steady rate while your circulatory system does the rest...

That said...we could make a 42ft²King mattress sized cooling pad... it would cost a lot more to make and ship and it would be less reliable due to having more potential failure points... But most of all...all that extra surface area acts like a huge door on an open refrigerator...sucking up heat not only from your body, but the entire room. And the colder it gets, the faster it sucks up heat...and the result is that the cooling power you need goes up fast, and quickly bumps up not only on cost, weight, and size constraints...but noise. Our 45W coolers are close to silent, while as you go up to 60/80, and 100W compressors...they get a little louder each step of the way. But once you get past 125W or so... the noise levels get to be too high and start interfering with sleep.

Now...that may be more than you wanted to hear...but this is why we have settled on the 27"x63" pads and the 12"x24" pillow pads as ideal for sleep cooling...the perfect balance of cost and performance to cool one or two sleepers without needing a pool chiller sized compressor.
