She's Back
Though right handed, this drawing was done primarily with my left-hand. I feel that this technique frees me and enables me to be a better receptor of inspiration. The symbols evolve as I draw, surprising me, baffling me as to what the image will be and what the rest of the drawing will look like. Sometimes symbols show up within the object as / draw. When finished with my drawing, research quiets my mind and reassures me about what I have been inspired to draw. The hard part is knowing what to call the object in order to look it up. The drawing has many cultural and religious symbols from many time periods. Look at the drawing and try to find as many objects as you can. There may be an encoded message in the drawing just for you. In your search for meaning in the drawing, the images may reassure you about what you are experiencing in your life, bring a tear to your eye, or tickle your fancy. Whatever your response is, enjoy the exploration and adventure into the collective unconscious world of symbols.
I was reluctant to draw this picture due to the popularity of angels in the '90's. I strive for a timeless message that can be far reaching across borders through time. Research revealed that the flame atop her head may be her pneuma, and insignia of a very high order of angel. The large flower in the lower left corner resembles a daisy, symbol of innocence and purity. Its center is comprised of "knots", problems to be unfolded perhaps. Her large feathery collar with her necklace may symbolize her type of authority yet complete servitude and dedication to her master. Her light seems to dissipate the darkness and hopefully restore life to the tree branches on the right. I am not sure why her left wing is folded unlike her right wing, which is fully extended. My wish to you is that she brings what you need and hope for.
The watermark "JOY" is not in the print. It is only on the online picture to protect the copywrite of the picture.
