James Dean takes a break from filming Giant in this candid photograph from the set of George Stevens' 1956 epic. Leaning against a dressing room trailer with a cigarette in hand, Dean embodies the effortless cool that made him a defining figure of 1950s Hollywood. Giant would become his final film, released more than a year after his death and earning him a posthumous Academy Award nomination. Sourced from the Hulton Archive, the photograph captures the actor away from the cameras during the making of one of his most celebrated performances. Each print is produced on archival photographic paper and custom-framed by hand.
