Snow on the driveway, a Tuesday night, and you are still hitting driver, with the ProTee VX mounted on the ceiling in front of you. Choose the screen size, mat and projector here, watch the build take shape in 3D at real size, and check out without waiting on a quote.
The ProTee VX DIY Enclosure Golf Simulator is a complete home golf simulator package built around the ProTee VX launch monitor: a Carl's Place DIY enclosure with a premium impact screen in six sizes, a Real Feel hitting mat, and a short-throw laser projector with its ceiling mount. Every pick updates the price and the 3D view, and the whole build goes to your cart as one package. It is for the golfer who wants one order for the whole room instead of sourcing a screen, frame, mat and projector separately.
Use the builder above to change the enclosure size, hitting mat or projector, or add a landing pad, gaming computer, touch screen monitor or golf simulation software.

ProTee VX Launch Monitor uses dual high-speed tracking cameras combined with AI-powered vision tracking to capture precise ball and club data for indoor golf simulation. Mounted overhead, it delivers fast, consistent measurements without interfering with the hitting area. Designed for a true walk-up-and-play experience, ProTee VX requires no club stickers and no marked balls for standard simulator use. Its ceiling-mounted design eliminates the need to reposition hardware for right- or left-handed golfers, making it ideal for shared home simulators, coaching environments, and multi-player sessions.

Every ProTee VX DIY Enclosure from Top Shelf Golf includes the ProTee VX Swing Camera Set free, a $700 value. This is a separate two-camera accessory that records video of your golf swing, and it works alongside the VX's built-in tracking cameras rather than in place of them. Set the cameras down the line and face-on, then review each swing frame by frame inside ProTee Labs.

The Carl's Place DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure builds a clean, fully contained hitting bay. Every size in this package ships with the triple-layer Premium impact screen, a pre-cut 1-inch EMT pipe framing kit, foam inserts, a pair of 8 ft net wall extensions and an overhead safety baffle. BlackStop light-absorbing fabric keeps the picture bright with less bounce-back.
Room minimum, to the inch. Width is Carl's overall frame plus a 3 in buffer on each side; height is the frame plus 3 in above; depth is 12 in behind the frame, the 67.375 in frame, 5 ft 1 in from the frame to the tee (10 ft from the screen, the closest Carl's says to hit from) and 5 ft behind the tee to swing, which is 16 ft 9 in for every size; Carl's Place recommends 7 ft behind the tee for a full driver swing, which makes it 18 ft 9 in. Figures are rounded up to the next inch.

The package ships with the Real Feel Country Club Elite Golf Mat, 5'W x 5'L. Its long, dense fibers let you swing down and through the turf the way you would off a fairway, it takes a real wooden tee, and the base absorbs the strike so your joints do not.
Three Fiberbuilt mats are one click away in the builder, or remove the mat if you already have one:
The Tour Landing Pad cushions and quiets balls dropping off the screen, keeps them from scuffing the floor, and bridges the gap between the mat and the enclosure. The builder offers the width that matches your bay, always 8 ft long:

The Optoma ZW350ST is the included projector: 3,600 lumens, a 30,000-hour DuraCore laser with no bulb to replace, and a 0.521:1 short throw, so it mounts close to the screen and out of the swing. Seven BenQ short-throw projectors are available in the builder, from the 1080p TH671ST to the 5,100-lumen 4K LK936ST, and the ceiling mount switches to the right model for whichever projector you choose. Remove the projector and the mount goes with it. The projector calculator shows the mount distance for your screen size.

Simulation software such as GSPro, E6 Connect and FSX Play needs a gaming-class computer, and the one you pick here arrives ready for it. SurfThing builds them for golf simulation: 32GB DDR5, a 2TB SSD and an NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPU, in a desktop tower or a laptop. With the desktop PC, add the SurfThing DT2424H 23.8-inch touch screen to start rounds, review data and scrub swing video without walking back to a keyboard. It is not offered with the laptop, which has its own screen.
The ProTee VX mounts overhead, just over 3 ft in front of the hitting area, at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface. A taller ceiling can work with a suitable drop mount.
The VX mounts on the ceiling just over 3 ft in front of the hitting area, at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, in a net build the same as in an enclosure; a taller ceiling can work with a suitable drop mount.
Every width of the Net Return Floating Screen Simulator Bay fits at 14 ft, with 18 ft for a full driver swing. The VX mounts on the ceiling just over 3 ft in front of the hitting area, at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface; a taller ceiling can work with a suitable drop mount.
The Carl's DIY kit fits at 16 ft 9 in, with 18 ft 9 in for a full driver swing and the VX takes no floor space. Mounting height is 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, with a drop-mount kit available for a taller ceiling.
The Pro enclosure needs at least 16 ft 0 in of room depth and the VX adds none on the floor. Mounting height is 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, with a drop-mount kit available for a taller ceiling.
Also at least 16 ft 0 in. The VX mounts overhead rather than sitting on the floor near the ball.
Carl's plans a Built-In room as 12 in behind the screen for buffer space plus 6 in to install the flaps, at least 10 ft from the screen and 7 ft of swing room in every direction. The VX mounts on the ceiling at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, with a drop-mount kit available for a taller ceiling.
Our pick: the Pro Enclosure from 16 ft 0 in, or the Built-In Screen where the wall is straight and framed. Either way, mounting height is 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, with a drop-mount kit available for a taller ceiling.

The second gallery thumbnail opens an interactive 3D view of your build at real size, with the ProTee VX where it belongs: overhead, on the ceiling. Drag to rotate, pinch or scroll to zoom, open it full screen. Share build saves the configuration to a short topshelfgolf.com link with a picture, for a spouse, a contractor or us, and the link rides along on your cart line and order.

All six of our formats work with an overhead mount: Net, Floating Screen, DIY Enclosure, Pro Enclosure, Curved Screen and Built-In Screen. The VX mounts overhead, just over 3 ft in front of the hitting area, at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, so it takes no floor space. In a net build it mounts on the ceiling the same way; a taller ceiling can work with a suitable drop mount.
At least 16 ft 0 in in the Pro Enclosure or the Curved Screen; 16 ft 9 in, with 18 ft 9 in for a full driver swing in the Carl's DIY enclosure; and 14 ft, with 18 ft for a full driver swing in a floating-screen bay. Carl's plans a Built-In room as 12 in behind the screen for buffer space plus 6 in to install the flaps, at least 10 ft from the screen and 7 ft of swing room in every direction. The VX takes no floor space, and its mounting height is 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface.
Yes, at a room depth of at least 16 ft 0 in. The VX mounts overhead rather than sitting on the floor, at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface.
We're proud to say we are an Authorized Dealer/Distributor for all the brands we carry. Your launch monitor, projector and computer are covered by their manufacturer's warranty from the date of the original purchase, subject to its conditions and limitations. Carl's Place screens and enclosure materials are wearable goods, so they do not carry a warranty. Some marking and wear from the first sessions is normal, and how long a screen lasts depends on skill level, how often you play and how it is installed. If something looks unusual rather than like normal wear, send us photos and your order number and we will take it up with Carl's Place.
Impact screens can be returned unused, but not once they have been hit. Because fit and material choice matter, measure your space before ordering.
We want you to be happy with your purchase and enjoy it for many years to come. If you decide you want to return your product, we will gladly assist you in the process. Please inspect your purchase when your package arrives. Product received damaged must be noted with the freight carrier at time of delivery. Contact us immediately no later than 24 hours from delivery time to report the damage. We cannot accept responsibility for a damaged shipment if it is not noted as such on the freight carrier's delivery receipt. Damage must be noted at the time of delivery.
