Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) is a fast-growing deciduous tree native to the Appalachian and Ozark regions of the eastern United States. When it comes to toughness, you will find very few native trees that match it. In late spring, it is covered in hanging clusters of fragrant white flowers, attracting native and honey bees. Our black locust tree for sale thrives in poor, dry ground where other trees struggle. It’s drought-tolerant once established, and because it fixes its own nitrogen, it grows well without fertilizer.
