Not every young maker wants to start with a blank piece of cardboard and an idea. The Toys & Games Project Pattern Pack gives your child the plans, instructions, and specialty pieces to build three working cardboard projects: Skee-Ball, a spinning top, and a marble snake game.
Your child attaches the printed patterns to his own cardboard, follows the marked cutting lines with his ChompSaw, and then assembles the pieces step by step. Instead of simply practicing cuts, he gets to see how accurately cut parts fit together to create something that actually works.
And these aren’t build-it-and-put-it-on-a-shelf projects. When he’s finished, he can roll balls through his Skee-Ball game, test his spinning top, or challenge someone with the marble snake game. There’s something especially satisfying about playing a game and being able to say, “I made that.”
The pack includes patterns and step-by-step instructions for 3 projects, plus the specialty accessories needed to complete them. You supply the cardboard and ChompSaw, which are not included.
Recommended for ages 8 and up, the Project Pattern Pack is a great next step for a child who enjoys using ChompSaw but isn’t quite ready—or simply doesn’t always want—to invent every project from scratch. He still gets the measuring, cutting, assembling, troubleshooting, and satisfaction of building it himself, just with a helpful plan for getting there.
