Explore deep, warm rhythm with the Meinl Sonic Energy 16" Ritual Drum, featuring a Moon Phases design and responsive True Feel synthetic head. Designed for grounding rhythm, sound baths, meditation, ceremonial settings, and personal sound exploration, this lightweight frame drum produces a rich, resonant voice with an expressive playing response.
The 16" diameter provides a satisfying balance between depth, resonance, and comfortable handling, while the cord cross at the rear creates a secure grip for extended playing.
Sound & Use
The Ritual Drum produces warm, deep tones that respond naturally to changes in playing intensity. Gentle strokes can create slow, heartbeat-like pulses, while stronger playing opens the drum into fuller rhythmic patterns and resonant grooves.
Its versatile sound makes it suitable for:
- Frame drum performance
- Sound baths
- Meditation and mindfulness
- Grounding rhythm
- Ceremonial and ritual use
- Rhythm exploration
- Ambient and immersive sound
True Feel Synthetic Head
The synthetic playing head provides a consistent and responsive playing surface without the natural variations associated with animal skin.
It also makes this Ritual Drum a vegan-friendly option while retaining the warm, resonant character required for expressive frame drum playing.
Moon Phases Design
The Moon Phases artwork follows the changing stages of the lunar cycle, creating a distinctive visual element across the surface of the drum.
Combined with the dark walnut brown frame, the design gives the instrument a contemporary yet organic character suited to both performance and dedicated sound spaces.
