Hazel Scarf

Design BF024 · Bramble & Fleece Autumn/Winter Collection

A moss stitch neckerchief-style scarf knitted in Bramble & Fleece Sheepsoft Fibreknit, featuring shaping at the ends to create a sloped point, perfect for tying. A versatile accessory to add interest to any outfit on colder days.

Moss stitch on 10mm needles produces a soft, pebbled fabric that grows very quickly, and the shaped points mean the scarf ties neatly rather than bunching at the throat. Three balls and a couple of evenings.

Which yarn does the Hazel Scarf use?

Hazel is written for Bramble & Fleece Sheepsoft Fibreknit, British wool knitted into a fine chainette tube rather than spun, which traps air for warmth at very little weight. You will need 3 x 50g balls.

Is it a good first project?

Yes. Moss stitch is just alternating knit and purl, and the increases are worked as knit into the front and back of a stitch. The pattern includes a tip on marking the right side so your increases stay consistent.

This is a digital knitting pattern supplied as a PDF download in English, with UK and US needle sizes and both metric and imperial measurements. Yarn, needles and hook are sold separately.
