Hand-carved from local ash, these sculptural bowls are scorched with a blowtorch and meticulously burnished to remove loose char, revealing a subtle, polished sheen. The technique is inspired by Yakisugi, the traditional Japanese method of preserving wood with fire. Responsibly sourced from trees felled due to Ash Dieback in the woodlands adjoining our workshop, each piece is finished with a protective blend of Tung oil and wax.
