Frequently asked questions
When does a pH probe need replacing?
When it will no longer hold a calibration, drifts between readings, or responds slowly. Probes are consumable. With good care you would expect a year or more out of one.
Is this the same as the standard Bluelab pH probe?
No. The standard replacement pH probe is a bulb probe for use in solution. The Leap probe has a hardened spear tip designed to be pushed into solid growing media.
How do I make it last?
Never let the tip dry out. Store it in Bluelab KCl storage solution, rinse it after every use, and clean it periodically with the Bluelab pH Probe Care Kit. A dried-out probe is the most common reason a probe fails early.
