An amulet bag is a perfect gift for a friend - you can slip something nice inside. It's a perfect gift for yourself too - keeping something inside close to your heart.
2.5 x 1.75 inches, featuring metal beads and a hand-carved bird.
The necklace is waxed cotton cord, and is adjustable by sliding the knots along the cord to the length best for you.

I purchased the fetish bird many years ago, probably at a bead and gem show.
I'm pretty sure it's hand-carved. As for the stone, I uploaded its photo to Google, and here's the answer:
"This specific form is a traditional Southwestern style—often called a Zuni-style water bird or directional bird fetish. It features a minimalist, streamlined profile, a straight incised line along the body to hint at a wing, and a drilled hole for the eye. Because it is styled as a single freestanding fetish or standalone pendant bead rather than a mass-produced component for a multi-strand necklace, it is often treated as an individual pocket token, amulet, or central pendant piece.

My amulet bags were woven on a floor loom, then hand-sewn, dyed, and painted.
The final step was adding beaded embellishment, and a necklace cord.
Each of my amulet necklaces are made individually - so although some are similar, there are no two exactly alike.
