Setup & Heat-Safety Guidance

The Curadle Brooder 90 uses its built-in carbon infrared heating system with double-wall insulation — no external heating pads are required or recommended. The internal heater is regulated automatically by the unit's digital temperature controller, which is the safest and most consistent heat source for this brooder.

🌡️ Temperature Monitoring

• Use the built-in digital display to monitor internal temperature; it reads directly from the sensor inside the unit.
• Set the target temperature within the rated range: 68°F – 100.4°F (20°C – 38°C).
• For neonatal animals, most breeders target approximately 85°F–95°F (29°C–35°C) — always follow guidance from your veterinarian for specific species and age.
• Allow the unit to stabilize for at least 20–30 minutes before placing animals inside.

📍 Placement & Ventilation

• Place the brooder on a stable, level surface away from drafts, air conditioning vents, and direct sunlight.
• Ensure at least 4–6 inches of clearance on all sides to allow the DC fans to circulate air freely.
• Do not stack items on top of or against the unit's ventilation openings.
• Keep the unit indoors in a temperature-stable environment; avoid rooms with extreme ambient temperature fluctuations.

⚠️ Heat Source Safety

• Do not use external heating pads inside or underneath this unit. The Curadle Brooder 90 has its own regulated heating element — adding a secondary heat source can cause overheating and is not supported by the manufacturer.
• The built-in UV lamp sterilization runs within the ventilation system and does not require any user adjustment during normal operation.
• Always plug the unit into a grounded outlet rated for its power draw (average 90W / max 150W, 110–120V 60Hz).

🧹 Cleaning

• The removable bottom drawer can be slid out for quick cleaning between uses.
• Wipe interior surfaces with a damp cloth and a mild, non-toxic disinfectant; allow all surfaces to dry fully before reuse.
• Do not spray liquids directly onto the heating element, sensors, or fan openings.
• Clean or replace the two air filters regularly to maintain airflow and filtration performance.

🔇 Noise

• The unit runs quiet DC fans by design. A low, consistent hum during operation is normal.
• Unusual rattling or increased noise may indicate a filter obstruction or loose component — inspect and clean filters before continued use.

🔌 Power Interruption

• In the event of a power interruption, have a plan ready: a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) or backup power bank rated for at least 150W can help maintain warmth during brief outages.
• Monitor animals closely any time power is restored, and allow the brooder to re-stabilize to the set temperature before leaving unattended.
