The name Carnotaurus comes from Latin, translating as “Meat-Eating Bull”.

Carnotaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in South America during the Late Cretaceous period, between 69 and 66 million years ago. Most of what we know about the Carnotaurus is based from one largely intact fossil. It grew up to 26 feet long and weighed as much as 4,600 pounds! Carnotaurus was built for speed and agility, and is the only known carnivore with a pair of horns over its eyes.
