Office wall art has a narrow brief: it should make the room look like serious thinking happens there, even on the days it does not. New Haven is seven ceramic flowers in avocado green, caramel, dewberry, blush pink, and oatmeal, named for the university town whose Gothic stone courtyards have been making young people feel underprepared for centuries. The palette runs from the deep greens of the Avocado Green Rozella Peony and Jungle Green Pompom Mum through the warm Caramel Charm Peony, then settles on Dewberry Camellia and Blush Pink Star Dahlia before the paler Oatmeal Solar Carnation and the Orange Yellow Gay Paree Peony finish the run. Each bloom is shaped by hand at Chive Ceramics Studio, and its reactive glaze means no two read exactly alike under a desk lamp. All seven arrive individually boxed, keyholes already set into the back. Hang the set behind a desk or above a bookshelf, and the room starts to look like it has read more than it has.
