A housewarming gift for a couple should survive the first dinner party without anyone needing to water it, and Ceramic Flower Lettuce Mint XL 5 was built for exactly that kind of low-stakes hosting. The color itself came out of a multi-day studio argument over the right green for the lettuce line, a debate that split unexpectedly along salad preferences before mint won out through attrition. It still reads as clean classic home decor, oversized enough to anchor a bare wall in a new place. Shaped by hand at Chive Ceramics Studio, each XL lettuce leaf keeps its own slightly uneven ripple from the mold. A single hook mounts it for good, so there's no soil and no plant-sitter needed during the move-in chaos. Newfields in Indianapolis rotates a handful of Chive pieces through its museum store, this mint lettuce recently among them. It also makes a solid gift for a best friend who just signed a lease. The salad debate, for the record, was never fully resolved.
