The Perfect Companion to Your Zaisu
This beautifully handcrafted Zabuton is designed as the ideal companion to our traditional Zaisu legless chairs. We tailored its dimensions to be slightly larger than standard cushions, ensuring a perfect fit within the chair's frame for a harmonious and comfortable floor-seating experience.

If you prefer an extra-generous floor cushion without a chair, this piece is also wonderful on its own—offering a surface area slightly larger than our standard Zabuton XL.

A Legacy of Japanese Comfort
With a history spanning nearly a thousand years, the Zabuton (座布団) holds a distinguished place in Japanese culture. In earlier times, it was far more than a floor cushion—its presence symbolized prestige and authority, reserved exclusively for emperors, shoguns, high-ranking nobility, and esteemed Buddhist priests.

Over centuries, the Zabuton has quietly woven itself into everyday life across Japan. Today, while offering daily comfort, it remains a testament to cherished cultural values: kutsurogi—a deep, gentle sense of relaxation—and omotenashi, the refined art of welcoming guests with warmth, care, and understated grace.

Please note: This product listing is for the Zabuton cushion only. The Zaisu legless chair frame is sold separately.
