The photographer's own words:

I created several balloon themed photos around this time. I purchased a number of helium balloons to make this idea come to life. I decided normal balloons wouldn’t work as well aesthetically for various reasons. In order to solve the problem of placing them within the bathtub without seeming to float too much, I tied each balloon string - at various lengths -to a sock to weigh them down. After shooting one test photo, my camera remote battery died. Having to climb in and out of the bathtub to set the timer without disturbing the balloons too much was a rather stressful affair, and not nearly as graceful as the final image turned out.
