OHTO has been making writing instruments in Japan since 1919, and their GS01 Horizon pens have become a real favourite around here — customers and our own team keep coming back to them. It's the weight, the sleek design, and how smoothly the ink glides across paper that keeps us reaching for one over almost anything else in the drawer.

Meet the GS01 Gel — OHTO's needle-tip roller pen with a full aluminum body that shifts from hexagonal to round as your hand moves down the shaft. The 0.5mm needle tip lays down smooth, quick-drying black gel ink with real precision, and the brass clip and nock add just enough weight to feel substantial without feeling heavy. It's refillable with OHTO's own PG-105NP gel cartridge, so one pen can outlast a lot of notebooks. A quietly well-made everyday pen, the kind you don't lose track of.
