SCIENTIFIC NAME: Ficus pumila
KNOWN AS: Creeping Fig, Climbing Fig, Fig Ivy
CLIMATE (LOCATION): East Asia (China, Japan, Vietnam) | Subtropical / Tropical
DESCRIPTION: Unlike its tall tree cousins, the Creeping Fig is a vigorous, fast-growing woody vine. It features small, heart-shaped juvenile leaves that form a dense mat of green. In the wild, it uses "adhesive" aerial roots to climb walls and trees. Indoors, it is a popular choice for hanging baskets, terrariums, or "topiary" frames.
