The Deuter Walker 24 is a 24 litre everyday pack in recycled melange polyester, built around a padded laptop compartment you reach from the side and a front pocket that turns into its own crossbody bag. It is the pack for the lecture theatre, the office and the city break.

Capacity, and what actually fits
24 litres takes a laptop up to 17 inches in its padded compartment, A4 binders in the main compartment, a lunch box, a drink bottle and a jumper, with a jacket stashed under the lid. The pack measures 52 x 31 x 23 cm and carries a recommended 3-6 kg.
How it carries
Deuter's Contact back pairs comfortable padding with a snug, body-hugging fit, so the load sits close and evenly spread. Padded shoulder straps and an adjustable, detachable 2-way sternum strap keep it settled on a walk across campus.
Fitting it
The Walker 24 suits back lengths of 38-54 cm, covering most people from about 158 cm to 195 cm tall. Shorten the shoulder straps until the base of the pack sits at your waist.
Access and organisation
The laptop compartment opens through a side zip with an auto-lock slider that will not creep open when the pack is pulled or knocked, so you can slide the laptop out without opening the top. The main compartment loads from the top under a drawcord and buckled lid, with an organiser unit and document compartment inside. The front pocket zips off completely and has its own adjustable strap, so your wallet, phone and passport go with you when the pack stays at the hotel.
