Already confident on most UK trails and bike parks, but still finding yourself taking the easier line when the terrain gets steeper, rougher or bigger?
The Private Advanced Course is designed for experienced riders who want to sharpen technique, build confidence on larger features and get more performance from their riding.
Whether you want to tackle bigger drops, move from table tops onto gaps, improve your line choice or shave time from race runs, the session can be tailored around your goals.
Advanced coaching is not simply about going bigger or faster.
It is about making your riding more controlled, repeatable and deliberate so that when the terrain steps up, your technique steps up with it.
Small changes in timing, body position and movement can make a huge difference once speeds and feature size increase.
Work progressively towards larger features with clear feedback and no pressure to rush progression.
Learn to read terrain more effectively and commit to lines that improve flow, speed and control.
Ideal for riders looking for more speed, consistency and efficiency, whether for racing or simply better trail riding.
The Advanced Course is flexible and can be adapted to your goals, riding level and the terrain available on the day. [oai_citation:1‡SkillsLoop](https://www.skillsloop.com/collections/skillsloop-mountain-bike-courses/products/skillsloop-advance-course)
Before progressing onto larger features, we make sure your foundations are working properly.
If you are already comfortable on table tops, we can work towards riding jumps where the take-off and landing are separated.
Progress your drop technique onto bigger features while maintaining balance and control.
Build confidence when the trail becomes steeper, looser and more technical.
Learn how to link multiple techniques together when the terrain becomes faster and more demanding.
If your goal is racing, we can look beyond simply clearing features and start working on efficiency and speed.
Moving from table tops to gap jumps can feel like a big mental step, even when your technique is already strong.
We revisit the core jump foundations first, warm up on suitable table tops and then progress onto graded gap jumps only when your coach feels your technique and control are ready. The aim is not simply to clear the gap.
We want you to understand why the jump worked, how you created the lift and what you can adjust when the feature changes.
As speeds increase and features get larger, poor setup can become much more noticeable.
Before the course we will look over your bike and advise on obvious setup changes or anything that may need repair or replacement. [oai_citation:3‡SkillsLoop](https://www.skillsloop.com/collections/skillsloop-mountain-bike-courses/products/skillsloop-advance-course)
Our SkillsLoop Bike Setup Tool gives you personalised starting points based on your bike, rider weight, riding style and terrain.
It covers tyre pressures, suspension, rebound, compression settings, cockpit setup, bar width, brake lever position and more.
A better-balanced bike gives you a stronger platform when riding faster, steeper and larger features.

If you are still building confidence on smaller jumps, basic drops or general trail riding, one of our earlier progression courses may give you a stronger foundation first.
One of the biggest advantages of private advanced coaching is flexibility.
If your priority is gap jumps, we can concentrate on jumping. If steep terrain is what slows you down, we can spend more time there. If you are racing, we can look at efficiency, line choice and carrying speed.
Work through the features or terrain that currently make you hesitate.
Refine the small details that become much more important at higher speeds.
Move onto larger or more technical features when your riding shows you are ready.
Work on becoming faster and more efficient without sacrificing control.
Going bigger is never the only measure of progression.
Larger features increase the consequences of poor technique, which is why we will sometimes spend more time refining a movement on something smaller before progressing.
Your coach will only move onto a larger feature when they feel your technique, control and confidence are ready.
A focused session ideal if you already know exactly what you want to work on.
10:00am – 1:00pm
More time for detailed coaching, repetition and applying your technique across a wider range of trail features.
10:00am – 3:00pm
Includes a short break.
Which should I choose?
If you want to concentrate heavily on one specific technique, a half day may be enough. If you want to combine jumps, drops, steep terrain and technical trail riding, the full day gives us much more room to progress without rushing.
