A sharpened pencil is still a perfectly good pencil.

In fact, one could argue it's more useful than a brand-new one—someone has already done the sharpening.

This listing is my small rebellion against the idea that useful things stop being useful simply because they've already been used.

Choose your preferred option:

Unused Vintage

You'll receive one dozen (12) unused vintage #2 wooden pencils.

A standard pencil measures approximately 7½ inches, so that's about 7½ linear feet of pencil.

Ready-to-Write

You'll receive at least 8 linear feet of vintage #2 pencils measuring 5 inches or longer.

Because every pencil has lived a different life, the number of pencils you'll receive will vary—but the total amount of usable pencil will exceed that found in a standard new dozen.

Photos are representative of the assortment you'll receive.

These pencils date primarily from the 1990s and earlier, rescued from schools, offices, workshops, studios, and estate collections. They still have plenty of stories left to write.

Their erasers, however, have earned the right to be a little unpredictable.

Some still work beautifully. Others have aged into enthusiastic smudge-makers. To make sure you're ready to write, I'll include one fresh pencil-top eraser with every order.
