The Akari BB3-X3 pairs one of Isamu Noguchi’s earliest designs for Akari light sculptures, a stone-like cast iron base and jointed bamboo stem, with a shade designed over two decades later. It features mulberry bark washi paper—devoid of traditional bamboo ribbing (higo)—in a form resembling a rectangular prism. The lack of ribbing and folded construction creates complex textures on the surface of the paper.
