The Akari BB2-X1 pairs one of Isamu Noguchi’s earliest designs for Akari light sculptures, a stone-like cast iron base and bamboo stem, with a shade designed over two decades later. It features mulberry bark washi paper—devoid of traditional bamboo ribbing—in a cubed form. The lack of ribbing and folded construction creates complex textures on the surface of the paper.
