The Akari L5 is among the Akari light sculptures Isamu Noguchi designed about twenty five years after the start of the series. It features mulberry bark washi paper and is constructed with minimal bamboo ribbing (higo). The model’s unique form resembles a long rectangular prism, split by a pair of stacked and rotated square antiprisms. The lack of ribbing and collapsible construction creates complex textures on the surface of the form.
