The Akari 95EN is among the wave of new Akari light sculptures designed by Isamu Noguchi in the late 1960s. It is the largest within a set of three related models, which includes the 50EN and 70EN. It features mulberry bark washi paper, and irregular (detarame), widely-spaced bamboo ribbing. Its form resembles a softly curved saucer (enban).
