The Akari 45X is among the wave of new Akari light sculptures designed by Isamu Noguchi in the 1960s, and the smaller in a pair of related models, with the 33X. It features mulberry bark washi paper, irregular, widely-spaced bamboo ribbing (higo), and a form resembling a cube.
