The Akari L2 is among the Akari light sculptures Isamu Noguchi designed about twenty five years after the start of the series. It features mulberry bark washi paper, devoid of traditional bamboo ribbing (higo) and resembles a short rectangular prism rotated above a long rectangular prism. The edges of the four faces of the longer prism are cut, allowing each face to move freely in the air.
