The Akari L6 is among the Akari light sculptures Isamu Noguchi designed about twenty five years after the start of the series. The shade, resembling an octagonal prism that is sectioned by inward/outward angles, is constructed with minimal bamboo ribbing (higo). The lack of ribbing and collapsible construction creates complex textures on the surface of the form.
