The Akari YP1 is the Akari light sculptures designed by Isamu Noguchi nearly twenty five years after he began the series. It features mulberry bark washi paper, and is constructed without the use of bamboo ribbing (higo), which, as it was designed by Noguchi to pack flat, creates complex textures and lines on its surface. Its unique seven-sided (heptahedral) geometric form resembles that of a diminished cube.
