Lemon Mint — actually a Monarda, not a true mint — is a dramatic addition to the herb garden with clustered towers of beautiful purple flowers that attract bees and butterflies in abundance while releasing a heavenly, lemon-mint fragrance when the leaves are brushed or crushed. The aromatic leaves are wonderful in herbal teas, cocktails, and as a garnish for desserts, and the stunning floral display makes this plant as valuable in the ornamental border as it is in the kitchen garden.
