The Paddock™ 900W Variable Speed Constant Pressure Water Pump combines a household pressure pump with an integrated variable speed drive (VSD) controller. The pump automatically adjusts its operating speed in response to water demand, helping maintain stable water pressure while reducing unnecessary motor operation.

Ideal for household rainwater systems, water pressure boosting, garden irrigation and clean water transfer, this compact pump delivers up to 80L/min flow and 50m maximum head.

Paddock™ 900W Variable Speed Constant Pressure Water Pump

Unlike a conventional fixed-speed household pump, the Paddock™ variable speed pump adjusts motor speed to better match water demand. This provides more stable pressure as taps and outlets are opened or closed and can reduce unnecessary power consumption and operating noise during periods of lower demand.

Key Features

  • 900W, 240V electric motor
  • Integrated variable speed drive (VSD) control
  • Automatic constant pressure operation
  • Maximum flow rate of 80L/min
  • Maximum discharge head of 50m
  • Maximum suction lift of 6m
  • Self-priming pump design
  • Integrated dry-run protection
  • Thermal and overload protection
  • Low-voltage protection
  • 1" BSP inlet and outlet
  • Suitable for clean water applications
  • 24 month warranty

Variable Speed Constant Pressure Operation

The integrated VSD controller automatically adjusts pump speed as water demand changes. When demand is lower, the pump can operate at a reduced speed rather than continually running at full motor speed.

This helps provide more stable water pressure across changing demand and can also reduce operating noise and energy consumption compared with running a pump continuously at full speed.

Household Water Pressure

This pump is well suited to supplying household water from compatible rainwater tanks and other clean water sources. Typical applications include showers, taps, toilets, washing machines, garden watering and general household water supply.

Variable speed control is particularly useful where water demand changes throughout the day as different outlets are opened and closed.

Self-Priming Operation

The pump has a maximum specified suction lift of 6m, making it suitable for installations where the pump is positioned above the water source.

Correct suction pipe sizing, airtight connections and initial pump priming are important for reliable self-priming operation. Actual suction performance will vary with installation conditions, pipe length, fittings and elevation.

Integrated Pump Protection

Built-in protection systems help protect the pump against abnormal operating conditions.

  • Dry-Run Protection: Helps protect the pump if the water supply is lost.
  • Automatic Restart: Following a dry-run event, the pump rests for approximately 30 minutes before attempting to restart. After five unsuccessful restart cycles, manual reset is required.
  • Thermal Protection: Helps protect against excessive operating temperature.
  • Overload Protection: Protects the motor against excessive electrical load.
  • Low-Voltage Protection: Helps protect the pump where incoming voltage falls outside its operating requirements.

Construction

The pump combines corrosion-resistant stainless steel and Polyphenylene Oxide (PPO) wet-end components with an aluminium alloy motor housing featuring an anti-corrosion treatment.

It also incorporates an Italian mechanical seal and USA microswitches. Replacement parts are available to assist with ongoing servicing and maintenance.

Typical Applications

  • Household rainwater supply
  • Household water pressure boosting
  • Showers, taps and toilets
  • Garden watering and irrigation
  • Clean water transfer
  • Commercial clean water supply applications
  • Multi-storey water supply where pump performance suits the installation requirements

Pump Selection

When selecting a household pressure pump, consider both the required flow rate and the pressure required at that flow rate. Maximum flow and maximum head figures occur at different points on a pump's performance curve and should not be considered simultaneous operating performance.

As household demand increases, more flow is required to operate multiple taps, showers and appliances at the same time. Building height, pipe diameter, pipe length, filters, fittings and the elevation of the pump relative to the water source will also affect available pressure and flow.

Indicative Household Demand Outlets Operating Indicative Flow
Small cottage Approximately 2 25L/min
Small house Approximately 4 35L/min
Average house with appliances Approximately 5 50L/min
Larger house / multiple bathrooms Approximately 6 70L/min
Large household with additional outdoor demand 7+ 90L/min+

Note: The figures above are a general guide only and are not a substitute for hydraulic system design. Actual requirements depend on the installation and the flow requirements of individual fixtures and appliances.

Indicative Pump Performance

Based on the supplied performance information, approximate pump output includes:

  • Approximately 55L/min at 30m head
  • Approximately 46L/min at 33m head
  • Approximately 40L/min at 36m head

Actual system performance will vary depending on suction conditions, pipework, fittings, filters, elevation and other system losses. For installations with demanding pressure or flow requirements, professional pump sizing is recommended.
