This artwork brings a tribute to Aboriginal mentors within our community. It highlights the importance of their role in passing on knowledge to the younger generation and the influence that have through generations from past, present and into the future.
Central to the design a gathering circle, connecting traditional symbols for men and Elders, highlights these respectful relationships on a backdrop of songlines on country. Yamamaliko celebrates one such relationship with the Awabakal Eagle totem and the Dunghutti Praying Mantis totems, both highlighting the mens tribal groups while bringing an acknowledgment to our leaders and the invaluable investment they bring to future generations.
